Stephanie Frappart Appointed Head of UEFA Refereeing Department
The UEFA Executive Committee has appointed Stéphanie Frappart as the new head of the refereeing department. The 42-year-old French official will be responsible for the strategic development of refereeing across Europe, overseeing referee appointments for European club competitions, and ensuring the quality of their performances.
Frappart will take over from Dagmar Damková of the Czech Republic on the refereeing committee chaired by Roberto Rosetti.
Frappart has already made history in football, becoming the first female referee to officiate in Ligue 1, the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and at the 2022 men’s FIFA World Cup. However, she was not selected for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
