Vyacheslav Surkis, the backup goalkeeper for Dynamo Kyiv, is set to remain the club’s first-choice keeper for at least the next three weeks. This update was provided by journalist Igor Tsyganyk.
The reason behind this decision is the injury sustained by Ruslan Neshcheret, which has yet to heal. Neshcheret was hurt at the end of July, and since then Surkis has featured in three matches—two European fixtures and one Ukrainian Premier League game. Surkis now faces a challenging test this Thursday as Dynamo travel to face Qarabag in the UEFA Conference League.
It is worth recalling that Surkis made his first-team debut for Dynamo only recently, at the end of February this year. He was brought on near the end of the match against Epicenter with the score at 4-0, serving as a birthday gift on the day he celebrated his birthday.
