Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudrik made his first appearance for Chelsea in 615 days, coming on as a substitute in a friendly match against Juventus in Hong Kong. The Blues’ coach, Xabi Alonso, expressed heartfelt emotions over the 25-year-old’s return following an extended and challenging absence.
“It was incredibly emotional for everyone at the club to see him back on the pitch,” Alonso said. “Before the game, I told him he would get between 10 and 15 minutes of playing time. Mikhail was absolutely thrilled. After such a long break, stepping onto the field again is an amazing feeling, both for him personally and for all of us,” he added.
