Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal has no clear update on the severity of Cody Gakpo‘s injury. The Liverpool forward was forced off the pitch just 17 minutes into the match against Serbia.
“It’s an ankle injury, that’s all I know. We’ll find out more tomorrow, but hopefully, it’s not too serious,” the Dutch manager admitted after Gakpo sustained the damage following a heavy challenge from Sasa Lukic.
Gakpo is awaiting further medical examination. It appears likely that his involvement in this international window has come to an end.
