Spanish basketball club Baskonia has officially announced the early termination of the contract with Ukrainian center Aleksey Len. The agreement was ended by mutual consent just nine days after it was signed.
The 33-year-old player joined the team on September 14, signing a two-year deal. However, after the very first training session, Len experienced discomfort in his foot—specifically in an area previously treated during his time with Madrid’s Real. Despite passing the medical examination successfully, both parties sought further consultations with specialists.
The club’s official statement emphasized that there are no signs of a new injury. Nevertheless, Baskonia and the player agreed that, given the current circumstances and the stage of the season, mutually terminating the contract was the best solution for both sides. This decision will allow Len to focus on recovery and prepare for the next phase of his career. The athlete expressed gratitude to the club, staff, teammates, and fans for their professionalism and support during the brief period of collaboration, wishing Baskonia success in the ongoing season.
