Xavi Pujol has been appointed as the new sporting director of Barcelona, according to the official announcement from the Spanish club.
Pujol succeeds Barcelona legend Juan Carlos Navarro, who has been demoted and reassigned as a team ambassador, a role that does not involve basketball operations.
The 36-year-old executive has signed a three-year contract with Barcelona. He joins the club from Baskonia, where he played a key role in helping the team secure the Spanish Cup last season.
