The French national team suffered a heavy defeat in a friendly match against the NCAA side Murray State, losing 72-110.
France fielded a reserve lineup despite having players like Silvren Francisco, Gershon Yabusele, and Jakuba Ouattara on the roster. The team fell behind early, trailing 5-27 after the first quarter. By halftime, Murray State held a commanding 62-25 lead, and France was unable to turn the tide in the second half.
Silvren Francisco led the French scoring effort with 23 points over 30 minutes on the court.
“We were basically just thrown together and sent out against a team that has been training since June 1st. They have well-organized offensive and defensive systems and play with great intensity,” Francisco explained regarding the team’s poor performance.
