Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, the legendary figure of Bayern Munich, believes that Harry Kane deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year. The official award ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 26 in London.
“Last season, Harry scored a total of 73 goals for Bayern and the England national team combined — only Lionel Messi has achieved more in a single year this millennium. That sets the standard.
It has been a long time since a Bayern player won the Ballon d’Or. More than four decades have passed since my two awards in 1980 and 1981. That is why such an achievement today would carry special significance — not only for the player but for the entire FC Bayern club.
Harry is an excellent role model for the team, especially for the younger players. His scoring ability is simply outstanding. He delivers passes to the left and right as if they were drawn with a ruler, precise to the millimeter. He has developed even further as a footballer.
Mbappé and Yamal? Of course, both are great players. But I definitely believe that Harry’s somewhat introverted character is more appealing. Kane lets his goals, performances, and titles speak for themselves, which, fortunately, he has done over the past two years.
The most important criterion for awarding the Ballon d’Or is individual skill, and in this regard, Harry has the edge,” Rummenigge asserted.
