Kawhi Leonard Returns to Toronto in Major Clippers Trade
The NBA free agency period has officially opened, and on the very first day, the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Clippers executed a major trade. Toronto sent a substantial package to Los Angeles in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, including Brandon Ingram, Grady Dick, two first-round draft picks, and two second-round draft picks.
For Leonard, Toronto holds a special place in his career, as it was with the Raptors in 2019 that he won the NBA championship, delivering the franchise’s first-ever title.
Following that triumph, Kawhi signed a seven-year deal with the Clippers, where he gained a reputation for being injury-prone, became embroiled in a salary cap scandal, and never managed to lead the team to the NBA Finals.
Now, Leonard is set to return to Toronto with the aim of turning the Raptors back into championship contenders.
