Guard Marcus Smart will continue his career with the Houston Rockets, having signed a two-year contract worth $13 million. The deal includes a player option for the second season.
Last season, Smart played for the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 9.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 49.7% from the field.
Considered one of the NBA’s top defensive players, Smart was not retained by the Lakers due to the team’s inability to free up salary cap space.
