Memphis prepares to part ways with its second star player of the offseason
Memphis is expected to soon finalize the buyout of D’Angelo Russell’s contract.
The player joined the club during the summer as part of a trade. The Grizzlies have no plans to utilize him.
Following the buyout, the 2020 All-Star will enter the unrestricted free agent market and be ready to sign a veteran minimum contract with a contender.
Recently, Memphis also bought out the contract of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Afterward, the defender joined Philadelphia.
