Anadolu Efes announced that their star guard Mike James suffered an Achilles tendon injury in Belgrade. Further medical examinations will soon determine the severity of the injury and the treatment plan.
The club did not specify the extent of the damage nor confirm whether the Achilles tendon was ruptured.
James was injured with 2 minutes and 40 seconds remaining in the third quarter of the game.
He made a sprint for the ball, then grabbed the lower part of his right leg before being carried off the court on a stretcher.
The EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer had recorded 11 points and 3 assists in 22 minutes and 30 seconds before leaving the game.
