Jorge Jesus Praises Portugal’s Unity Despite Ronaldo’s Exit
Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus expressed satisfaction with his team’s collective performance following their 4-2 away victory over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League. He emphasized that the squad remained united despite the recent controversy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo‘s departure from the national team.
“Nothing should prevent the team from standing with me,” Jesus stated in an interview with Sport TV. “I understand the question about Ronaldo. However, what matters is what we must do. What happens does not divide the team; it has not divided us and will not divide us.
A high-quality win, four goals, top-level play. This cannot be ignored. That is the most important thing that happened. That is where I want to focus.”
The players also voiced their support for the national team coach.
“First and foremost, the new coach is a great help,” said Gonçalo Ramos. “We have clearer ideas now; we know exactly where each teammate is, both defensively and offensively.
You can see this in our performance today and in our recent matches. We are improving day by day, and this is all part of the process. We are very happy with the win, especially against another strong team.”
