Monaco Denied Entry to Next Ligue 1 Season, Files Appeal

Monaco’s application to participate in the upcoming French championship has been rejected, prompting the club to appeal to the French Federation.
According to BeBasket, the National Directorate for Control and Management did not approve the principality’s team for the Betclic ÉLITE in the new season, citing insufficient guarantees of the club’s viability.
The club has filed an appeal with the French Federation, with the case expected to be reviewed on July 20, reports Nicematin.
Monaco’s difficulties are directly linked to its owner, Aleksei Fedorichev, who has lost access to his assets. As a result, he is unable to finance the team. It is noted that the principality covered the team’s salaries and essential expenses until June 30 but will no longer provide financial support under the current administrative structure.
