Monaco is currently assembling its squad for the upcoming season, although the club’s future in the French league remains uncertain.
The club is in talks with 34-year-old Axel Toupane, who brings experience from both the NBA and the French national team.
Toupane earned a bronze medal with France at the 2019 World Cup. In the NBA, he played for the Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and New Orleans Pelicans. He was part of the Bucks’ championship-winning squad in the 2020/21 season, although he featured in only four playoff games.
Over the past two years, Toupane has competed for clubs in Lebanon, Taiwan, Portugal, and Senegal.
Monaco is also considering signing Mathis Dossou-Yovo, Yakouba Watara, and Joel Ayayi, while Yohann Begarin remains under contract despite his desire to leave and contact several EuroLeague teams during the offseason.
