The NBA has found no evidence that Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer paid forward Kawhi Leonard through sponsors in violation of the salary cap.

The investigation lasted 11 months. Initially, it focused on Leonard’s contract with the now-defunct company Aspiration, but later expanded to include at least three other organizations associated with the Los Angeles franchise.

On June 30, the Clippers agreed to trade Leonard to the Toronto Raptors, but the deal has not been officially approved yet due to the ongoing investigation, which is nearing its conclusion and is unlikely to block the transfer.
