Bayern Munich Eye Erling Haaland as Long-Term Replacement for Harry Kane
Bayern Munich is considering Erling Haaland as a potential long-term successor to Harry Kane. According to Bild, the Munich club is eyeing the Norwegian striker from Manchester City for a move in two to three years, anticipating that Kane, who recently turned 33, may need to be replaced by then.
This strategic thinking follows a recent transaction where entrepreneur Max Fissmann, through his company Viessmann Generations Group, acquired the last available 5% stake in Bayern for €250 million. This deal values the club at around €5 billion and significantly strengthens its financial position.
Bild also recalls that Haaland was close to joining Bayern in 2022. At that time, he visited a restaurant in Munich and met with former sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić at his home. Ultimately, the Norwegian chose to join Manchester City and work under Pep Guardiola. Now, with Guardiola’s departure, Bayern believes that in a few years, City might become less appealing to Haaland, and at 29 years old, it could be the perfect moment for him to return to the Bundesliga.
