Pedro Martínez, head coach of Valencia, is set to take over at Real Madrid, replacing Sergio Scariolo, according to Marca.
Real Madrid is prepared to pay Valencia a compensation fee of €1 million to secure the early release of the 65-year-old Martínez’s contract. Additionally, they plan to offer him a three-year deal.
Last season, under Martínez’s leadership, Valencia reached the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time in the club’s history. They also secured both the Spanish Supercup and the national championship. Martínez was honored as the EuroLeague Coach of the Season for 2025/26.
