Kaunas Žalgiris is entering the 2026–2027 season with a record-breaking budget, announced club president Paulius Jankūnas during a press conference on Tuesday.
This season, the Lithuanian champions plan to operate with a budget of €28.8 million. By comparison, last season Žalgiris had a budget of €24 million, although the initial plan was set at €21.7 million.
Ticket sales generated €12.2 million in revenue, while the club’s merchandise store increased its income to €4.2 million. For the upcoming season, the salaries for Žalgiris players and coaching staff are expected to total €19.7 million.
The largest portion of the budget comes from ticket sales, with the regular season projected to bring in €11.3 million. Sponsorship and advertising will contribute €8 million, and the Kaunas city municipality has allocated €3 million to the club.
Žalgiris will also earn €3.9 million from television rights and sporting bonuses, while player transfers have brought in €0.6 million.
