Anatoliy Trubin, the goalkeeper for the Ukraine national team, reflected on the recent UEFA Nations League match against Georgia, which ended in a goalless draw.
“I knew from the start it would be a tough game. Georgia is a strong team with quality players up front. We prepared accordingly, especially since there were many changes in our lineup. It was a challenging match,” Trubin said.
Commenting on his save from a shot by Chakvetadze, he added, “That was a great moment. It reflects all the hard work that people don’t usually see. I’m really glad it turned out that way.”
Regarding the one-on-one situation with Khvicha, Trubin explained, “He accidentally grazed me with his knee during the play. I understand there was no aggression—it was purely a football moment. He didn’t even need to apologize.”
Trubin also spoke about his recent club struggles: “I’ve had difficult months at my club and haven’t played much, so every match is a blessing for me, especially when representing the national team,” he told the press service of the Ukrainian Association of Football.
