Antoine Kombouaré Set to Leave Paris as Contract Talks Stall
Antoine Kombouaré is highly likely to step down as head coach of Paris Saint-Germain. Although he successfully steered the team clear of relegation and secured an 11th-place finish in Ligue 1, contract renewal talks have reached an impasse. The parties failed to agree on the duration of the deal: the 62-year-old coach demanded a contract through 2028 along with a salary increase, while the club’s management remained cautious. Additionally, Kombouaré’s health issues, which require knee surgery, have influenced the situation.
With only a few days left before the team returns from the break, the Parisian club’s leadership is already searching for a replacement to avoid delaying their transfer campaign. The leading candidate for the vacant position is former Strasbourg and Chelsea manager Liam Rosignol.
