Aston Villa has set an astronomical asking price of £130 million for their star midfielder Morgan Rogers. The Birmingham club’s management is determined to keep hold of the player, who has attracted strong interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. This valuation could potentially break the British transfer record.
According to The Telegraph, Villa’s board was influenced by the recent £116 million transfer of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City, as well as a clause requiring 20 percent of any future sale to Middlesbrough. Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta is eager to secure the midfielder to strengthen his central midfield options, but Rogers is under contract until 2031. The London club will likely need to offload some key players to afford this deal.
