Claudio Beneforti, a journalist from Corriere dello Sport, revealed on Radio FirenzeViola that Fiorentina striker Roberto Piccoli is very likely to transfer to Bologna. According to Beneforti, the deal could be finalized within the next few days. The main motivation behind this move is Bologna’s need for a reliable alternative to Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk.
Beneforti emphasized that Dovbyk has been facing difficulties related to his preparation, which dates back to his time under Gian Piero Gasperini at Roma. This situation has made it essential for Bologna to bring in a player who can effectively support Dovbyk immediately and eventually replace him. In Beneforti’s view, Piccoli fits this role perfectly: he would represent an upgrade compared to the departing Taye Dallinga and strengthen the club’s attacking options.
Fiorentina values Piccoli at 19 to 20 million euros, while Bologna is willing to offer around 16 to 17 million euros. If the gap is bridged by the sale of Dallinga, expected to bring in 10 to 12 million euros, the transfer would be beneficial for both clubs. Beneforti is confident that the transfer will gain momentum in the coming days.
