Fiorentina has officially announced the signing of young talent Franco Mastantuono from Real Madrid. The player has been loaned from the Madrid club for one season.
The loan deal does not include an option or obligation to buy, nor does it provide for automatic extension should “Viola” qualify for European competitions this season, contrary to earlier reports that emerged this week.
Mastantuono holds the distinction of being the youngest player ever to represent Argentina at the senior level. He made his debut under Lionel Scaloni at 17 years and 296 days last summer. Franco broke a record that had stood for more than a century, originally set by Adolfo Haizinger in 1916.
