Chornomorets has issued an official statement regarding the missile attack on Odessa that damaged the club’s home stadium. The assault caused partial destruction of the stadium’s roof and inflicted damage on the stands.
“Dear fans! We inform you that the Round 2 Ukrainian Premier League match between Chornomorets and Kolos, originally scheduled for August 8 at the Chornomorets Stadium, has been postponed to a backup date.
You have all seen the extent of the damage inflicted by the enemy on our stadium – a sporting landmark of Odessa. This is yet another act of terror against a peaceful Ukrainian city.
We will announce the new date, time, and venue of the match through the club’s official communication channels. We hope the game will still take place in Odessa with the support of our fans.
Please do not rush to return your tickets – they will remain valid. Thank you for your understanding and support!” the club’s statement read.
It is worth noting that Chornomorets returned to the Ukrainian Premier League after spending a season competing in the First League.
