Cole Palmer, the forward for Chelsea, is unlikely to be included in the England squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures due to a minor injury. The 24-year-old missed out on the 2026 World Cup but was called up by manager Thomas Tuchel for the autumn internationals with the Three Lions.
Earlier, Tuchel emphasized that Palmer needed to “prove his worth” and “show his capabilities” to justify his place in the national team. However, the Chelsea striker now faces the risk of missing out on selection once again.
England are set to face the reigning world champions, Spain, at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 26 September, before traveling to the Czech Republic on 29 September and Croatia on 3 October. They will then host the Czech Republic on 6 October.
Palmer was ruled out after completing the full match for Chelsea against Brentford on Friday, where the London side suffered a 0-3 defeat.
The last time Palmer represented England was in a friendly against Japan in March of this year.
