Diego Simeone, the manager of Atlético Madrid, responded to comments made by Real Madrid coach José Mourinho, who had earlier claimed that the referee spoiled the Madrid derby and caused Real’s defeat with his decisions.
“We respect the opinions of others. As La Liga coaches, we are in a privileged position but also very vulnerable. Whether it’s Simeone, Mourinho, Flick, or Pellegrini, we must be cautious with our words and learn to respect one another. Otherwise, everyone loses. When someone crosses that line of respect, it becomes dangerous. It doesn’t matter if it’s Mourinho, Flick, or Simeone—there are limits that must never be crossed.
It was a tense match against an opponent with incredibly fast transitions, and we managed to control almost all of them. In the second half, there was only one moment when Cuti and Llorente collided, leaving Diomande with the ball.
