Spain national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has announced the squad for the next four UEFA Nations League matches. The Spanish side will kick off their new international campaign with a clash against England at Wembley Stadium on September 26, followed by games against Croatia and Czech Republic.
De la Fuente has largely retained the core of the team that triumphed at the 2026 World Cup, making only a few adjustments. Marcos Llorente has retired from international duty, while the injured Gavi is absent from the squad. In attack, Roberto Fernandez takes the place of Borja Iglesias.
One notable change is in the goalkeeper department, with Josep Martinez called up to replace the injured Joan Garcia. Otherwise, the coach has kept his usual lineup intact.
Another alteration sees the return of Fermin Lopez, who comes in for Gavi. De la Fuente continues to rely heavily on players from Barcelona, selecting seven representatives from the Catalan club: Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo, Rodri, Pedri, and Lamine Yamal.
