The NBA club Dallas Mavericks has no plans to part ways with their star guard Kyrie Irving, who missed nearly the entire previous season due to injury.

The 34-year-old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, an injury that requires an extensive recovery period. Irving has now completed his full rehabilitation and is expected to be ready to play from the start of the upcoming season.

“I remember everything that was said about me when people thought I was finished,” Kyrie wrote on social media.

New Dallas head coach Dusti May plans to build the team’s offense around Irving and last year’s top draft pick Cooper Flagg. The club regards Kyrie as one of the key players in their pursuit of a championship.
