Former Real Madrid defender David Alaba has decided to continue his career in the Italian league. The player has been a free agent since June 30, when his contract with the Madrid club expired.
In recent months, rumors linked the 34-year-old Austrian international with Berlin’s Union, Club América, Inter Miami, and Al Sadd, but he ultimately chose to join Udinese.
Alaba arrived in Italy’s capital this morning and underwent a medical examination at the Villa Stuart clinic. According to various reports, including Sky Sport Italia, no issues were found during the check-up, allowing him to proceed to Udine to finalize his contract.
It is expected that the defender will sign a short-term deal. Alaba spent the majority of his career at Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, winning four UEFA Champions League titles, 10 Bundesliga championships, two La Liga titles, three UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups with these two clubs.
