Virgil van Dijk, captain of the Netherlands national team, spoke ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Nations League clash against Germany. This match will mark the debut of the new Dutch coach, Xavi Hernandez.

“Under Xavi’s leadership, I will likely play the same role I have at Liverpool, and I enjoyed the first three training sessions. Anyone who watches me weekly knows I am capable of playing high up the pitch.

“Jürgen Klopp? He exudes a lot of energy and knows how to connect with players. He has a great sense of the situation. I have immense respect for him because he has been a significant figure in my career,” van Dijk told UEFA’s official website.
