Dutch Queen Joins Curaçao Team Celebration After World Cup Draw
Curaçao’s first-ever point at the FIFA World Cup and a record number of saves marked a remarkable day for the national team. The celebrations continued when the King and Queen of the Netherlands visited the Curaçao locker room following their draw against Ecuador.
This royal visit was fitting, given that Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, despite having autonomous status.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s presence was well justified, and their genuine dancing with their subjects added a heartfelt touch to the occasion.
