Egypt national team head coach Hossam Hassan has confirmed that team captain Mohamed Salah will undergo a medical examination following concerns about his fitness. Salah was substituted just 12 minutes into the second half, raising doubts ahead of the upcoming playoff matches.
Hassan emphasized that it is too early to determine the severity of Salah’s condition. “He asked to be taken off. When a player requests a substitution, it means he felt something. We will find out what the issue is. He will be examined,” the coach explained.
In addition, Hassan revealed that left-back Ahmed Fattouh will also be assessed after sustaining an injury.
Despite worries over the physical condition of several players, the Egyptian coach remains confident in his squad. “I have fighters. I have Egyptian players who deserve the trust placed in them,” he stated.
