England Implements Noise Mitigation Plan Ahead of Mexico World Cup Match
The England national team has devised a strategy to counter the disruptive behavior of noisy Mexican fans ahead of their Round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup. Previously, the Ecuadorian team lodged complaints with FIFA about local supporters who disturbed their rest by using sirens and motorcycles near their hotel. To prevent a similar situation, the English squad is keeping their accommodation location in Mexico City confidential, while players will be provided with earplugs, sleep masks, and white noise generators.
Additionally, the host nation will benefit from the high altitude of Mexico City, a factor that players cannot acclimate to in just a few days. England’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, addressed the challenge of adjusting to the altitude: “The elevation will be a significant disadvantage for us; physically adapting in four days is impossible. There will be other obstacles, but we are prepared. This is a huge advantage for Mexico, and with only three days between matches, we will have to manage it. Our mindset shows we are ready to fight.”
