The fortunate resolution of Mykhailo Mudryk’s case is gradually coming to light with more details emerging. Ukrainian insider Ihor Burbas has provided the latest update.
He points out that from the very beginning, Mudryk did not deny the anti-doping violation. However, by enlisting some of the world’s most professional and expensive sports lawyers, he was able to prove that meldonium entered his body unknowingly and without intent. As a result, his case never proceeded to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. After considering all of Mudryk’s arguments and assessing the risks, the English Football Association reached a settlement agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Furthermore, Burbas notes that Mudryk’s side possesses comprehensive evidence detailing the circumstances under which the prohibited substance entered the athlete’s system.
