Among those spotted in the VIP box by Reuters reporters were Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, James Cameron, Ashton Kutcher, and Owen Wilson. From the sports world, multiple NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls, Scottie Pippen, was also present at the game.
The match itself held no competitive significance— the United States had already secured first place in the group and a spot in the knockout stage, while Turkey was eliminated after two opening losses. However, for the celebrities, that seemed irrelevant. The World Cup is gradually turning into a social event, especially since the game took place near Hollywood, in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood.
