Italy Forward Giacomo Raspadori Set to Return After Two-Week Injury Layoff
According to Italian media reports, Italy national team striker Giacomo Raspadori has been diagnosed with a muscle injury. The forward started for his team on Monday in the UEFA Nations League match against Turkey but was substituted at halftime.
Later, coach Roberto Mancini confirmed that the injury was the reason for the substitution. The issue turned out to be serious enough that Raspadori had to leave the National team camp and return to his club. Atalanta announced that medical examinations revealed a minor strain of the biceps femoris muscle.
It is expected that Raspadori will be sidelined for approximately two weeks, which means he could potentially return to action immediately after the international break.
It is worth noting that this season, the forward has struggled to secure significant playing time at Atalanta. He has scored only one goal in six appearances across Serie A and the UEFA Europa Conference League playoffs.
