Jürgen Klopp, the new head coach of the Germany national team, spoke to the media ahead of his debut match in charge. Tomorrow, Klopp will lead Germany against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.
“If we weren’t feeling some nerves, that would be a bit disappointing. Everyone is excited about the upcoming match, so we definitely sense the start of something new,” Klopp said.
The former Liverpool manager aims to ignite even more enthusiasm among his players through his own dedication.
“I am ready to go through fire for these guys. If they give their all, I will take full responsibility for any defeats—no ifs or buts,” Klopp emphasized.
The Netherlands also have a new coach: former Barcelona player and manager Xavi Hernandez.
“I personally know the Dutch players better than Xavi. I don’t know if that’s an advantage, but it’s a fact,” Klopp told reporters.
When asked about his tactical approach against the Netherlands, the 59-year-old coach declined to reveal all his plans.
“It’s clear that we want to play good football. But we also want to surprise our opponents a little,” Klopp noted.
