Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp had initially called up a total of 44 players last week for four upcoming UEFA Nations League matches, dividing them into two squads to cover two games each.
It was announced today that Barcelona star Karim Adeyemi and Bayern Munich’s wunderkind Lennart Karl have swapped places between the two German squads.
Adeyemi was originally named in the second team scheduled to conclude the four-match stretch with fixtures against Serbia on October 1 and Greece on October 4.
However, the German Football Association confirmed that Adeyemi and the young Bayern player Karl exchanged squads due to load management considerations.
The first German team, now featuring Adeyemi, will face the Netherlands away on Thursday before hosting Greece on Sunday.
