Real Madrid continues its crusade against the Spanish referees committee, with VAR official Trujillo Suárez now in the spotlight.
According to reports from the Madrid press, over the past two seasons, Real Madrid has received six red cards in matches where Trujillo Suárez operated as the VAR referee.
Trujillo Suárez has been by far the most frequent VAR official in Real Madrid games, overseeing 23 of their matches since the 2024/25 season.
Madrid insiders highlight several notable encounters: the last two derbies, the match against Celta Vigo where Real Madrid lost two players while numerous fouls by Celta went unpunished, the elbow strike that caused Kylian Mbappé to bleed but was not awarded a penalty in the game against Girona, the 2024/25 fixture versus Osasuna where Jude was sent off and Real Madrid was denied four penalties, and the shove by Fran García into the stands which went unpunished despite clearly warranting a red card.
