Klopp Set to Leave Red Bull Role to Manage Germany National Team
Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed that the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager has agreed to take charge of the Germany national team. Jürgen Klopp will replace Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed following Germany’s disappointing performance at the 2026 World Cup.
It is worth recalling that since January 2025, Jürgen Klopp has served as the global sporting director for Red Bull clubs.
“Klopp has already agreed to move to the Germany national team. His contract with Red Bull includes a clause allowing him to terminate the agreement in order to take on a national team role,” Jacobs reports. “An official deal with the German Football Association (DFB) is expected soon. Klopp is ready to return to coaching, and both parties are currently negotiating contract terms and the composition of the new German coaching staff.”
