Leeds United are on the verge of completing a major signing. According to The Athletic, the Premier League club is finalizing the transfer of Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford. The 23-year-old Englishman favored the move to Elland Road and will become Leeds’ third summer signing.

Leeds’ management sought to strengthen their goalkeeping options following the departure of Karl Darlow to Manchester United. Trafford had returned to Manchester City with hopes of securing the starting spot but lost his place after the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Last season, the goalkeeper featured in 17 matches and played a part in Manchester City’s victories in both the FA Cup and the League Cup.
