Lens Secures First French Super Cup with 1-0 Win Over PSG
Lens secured their first-ever French Super Cup title by edging Paris Saint-Germain 1-0. The decisive goal came in the 32nd minute from Florian Thauvin. Shortly after the breakthrough, Lens were reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Kylian Antonio, but PSG failed to capitalize against their opponent’s resolute defense. Late in the game, the sides were evened up again when Nuno Mendes received a red card.
Ukrainian defender Illya Zabarnyi started for PSG and played the full 90 minutes. According to several respected media outlets, he was the standout performer for the Parisian side.
