Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Moroccan international midfielder Ayoub El Kaabi from French club Lille, according to prominent insider Nicolo Schira.

Earlier reports suggested that the Citizens would pay €129 million for the transfer of the midfielder. However, there is a key condition: the move will be finalized only after Rodri departs from the English club, with his transfer to Barcelona expected to be confirmed soon.

Last season, El Kaabi featured in 42 matches across all competitions at club level, contributing one assist. He also appeared in five games at the 2026 World Cup. His current contract with Lille runs until summer 2029. Transfermarkt values him at €80 million.
