Manchester City Poised to Break Premier League Transfer Record for Anderson
While the England national team competes at the World Cup, the Premier League is on the verge of its most expensive transfer ever. Manchester City is close to signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. The Forest have already rejected two bids, including the latest offer of €139 million, but are reportedly willing to let the 23-year-old midfielder go for €150 million.
Negotiations are set to resume within the next 24 hours and could conclude with a deal. Should the transfer go through, Anderson would surpass Alexander Isak to become the most expensive player in English football history, as well as the standout star in Enzo Maresca’s revamped squad. Since his move from Newcastle two years ago, the midfielder has developed into one of the finest talents in the country.
