The United States Soccer Federation has announced the signing of a new contract with national team head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine will remain in charge of the US team through the conclusion of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Longtime assistants Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino, and Toni Jimenez, along with recent additions Sebastian Pochettino and Silvia Tuya, will continue as part of Mauricio Pochettino’s coaching staff.
“Mauricio and his team believe in the future of soccer in the United States, and our new project allows us to build on the national team’s successes,” said US Soccer Federation General Secretary Jay T. Batson. “We understand there is a lot of work ahead to achieve our goals, including competing to win men’s World Cup tournaments and making soccer the most popular sport in every community. I am very pleased that Mauricio and his staff are committed to working closely with all of us to turn these ambitions into reality.”
Mauricio Pochettino took over the US men’s national team in September 2024. Under his leadership, the team has played 31 matches, winning 18 of them. At the 2026 World Cup hosted on home soil, the United States reached the Round of 16 before falling 1-4 to Belgium.
