Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts two days ahead of the English Super Cup clash against Manchester City. He expressed excitement about starting the season with a trophy.
“We are very happy to kick off the season by competing for our first trophy. That is exactly our goal. We will face a very strong opponent, but I feel a great energy around the team. All the international players have returned, and we are eager to get started,” Arteta said.
He also addressed the upcoming duel with Enzo Maresca, who has taken over from Josep Guardiola at Manchester City.
“Enzo Maresca has a unique personality, strong character, and especially the knowledge to do an incredible job at Manchester City. That is why he was chosen—they could have picked anyone, but they selected Enzo for the right reasons.
He has proven himself at every level: during his time in the Championship, at Chelsea, and now here. So I have no doubt he will excel in his role,” the Spanish coach concluded.
