Nottingham Forest have secured the signing of Ivorian defender Usman Diomande from Sporting for a transfer fee of 40 million euros. The 22-year-old has committed to a four-year contract with his new club.

“I believe we can achieve great success this season, and I look forward to meeting the players and the head coach. I will give my all.”
Forest’s manager Oliver Glasner favors a 3-5-2 formation, and Diomande is expected to form part of the back three alongside Nicola Milenkovic and Murillo.
The defender has earned 15 caps for the Côte d’Ivoire national team and was part of the squad at the 2026 World Cup, where he appeared in one group stage match against Curaçao, a game that ended in a victory for his country.
At club level, Diomande has played 132 matches for Sporting’s first team, contributing to the club’s back-to-back Primeira Liga titles in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
