Sporting’s central defender Usman Diomande is set to continue his career in England. According to The Athletic, the 22-year-old Ivorian is moving to Nottingham Forest, who will pay the Portuguese club €40 million for his transfer.
The player is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Saturday, after which he will sign a five-year contract with the club managed by Oliver Glasner. Diomande is leaving Lisbon following 132 appearances for Sporting, having joined the Portuguese side in 2023 from Danish club Midtjylland.
This summer, the Ivorian featured for his national team at the 2026 World Cup. He started in the opening match against Curaçao, which ended 2-0, but did not play in the round of 16 defeat to Norway (1-2).
