Barcelona continues their pursuit of Atlético forward Julián Álvarez, having adjusted their negotiation strategy. Following a meeting between sporting director Deco and the Argentine’s agent Fernando Hidalgo, the decision was made to avoid public statements and pressure tactics.
Álvarez is set to return to training with Atlético on time and plans to privately discuss his desire to leave with the coach and club management. The forward remains firm that his sole ambition is to join Barcelona. Previously, both Diego Simeone and Miguel Ángel Gil were strongly opposed to letting the player go.
The Blaugrana have already increased their initial offer from around €100 million to approximately €120 million.
